New Chapters at the Library

FOGL was set up in response to the threat of permanent closure of the library more than 10 years ago. Goring Library has one of the strongest volunteer teams in the county, numbering some 50 people, and Susan Ritchie is the volunteer co-ordinator. If you’re interested in taking on a session do contact her email - it’s interesting and varied work and surprisingly active - a morning at the Library can close some of those exercise loops on your Fitbit/ I-watch etc!

Goring Library was refurbished in 2024 to make an open and welcoming space with a dedicated area for use of the library computers or your own laptop, attractive seating, flexible shelving and a bigger area for young readers to use - which even has a comfy sofa to sit on.
